We offer girls in an underserved community opportunities to acquire skills for self-reliance and empowerment. Through our programs, they gain the knowledge and confidence to pursue their goals and build a better future for themselves.
Our rigorous boot camp enables girls to transition to tertiary education institutions. This comprehensive program provides academic support, mentorship, and practical skills to help young women thrive in higher education.
We provide the girls with financial, social, and emotional resources to best prepare them for higher learning. We believe in empowering girls to reach their full potential and become community leaders.
Nailepu Foundation helps girls from rural Narok County transition to tertiary education. In the Maasai community, girls face many obstacles when continuing their education. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriages continue to be the biggest bottleneck for girls to continue with their education. Every year, less than 10% of girls continue from Primary School to Secondary School education, and less than 5% continue to universities and colleges. We aim to provide a safe environment for girls after completing high school where they spend a couple of months acquiring valuable skills such as basic computer studies, fashion design fundamentals and practicals, and hair and beauty courses, which will enable these girls to be more financially independent and able to support themselves through tertiary institutions.
Young girls and women deserve the opportunity to pursue education at the highest level without cultural barriers. Educating girls has been proven to have a significant positive impact on communities worldwide. Empowering them through education leads to more prosperous and equitable societies.
Create relationships and networking opportunities for our program beneficiaries with local employers, scholarships for further studies, and internship opportunities, among other opportunities that will benefit our program beneficiaries.
In a community like ours, the Maasai Community, where women depend on men for basic financial needs, we must introduce and teach skills to young & adult women so that they can support themselves financially and thus have some form of independence and freedom.
Nailepu Foundation aims to establish a network of mentors to support and guide our program beneficiaries. We are committed to offering personalized mentorship experiences for our girls with mentors from diverse backgrounds. We aim to empower and inspire the next generation of female leaders. Backgrounds and experiences.
In our community, many girls miss school each month during their menstrual cycles because they lack sanitary towels or other menstrual care tools. Nailepu Foundation aims to provide eco-friendly and reusable hygienic towels regularly to all adolescent girls in primary and secondary schools in Emarti.
Nailepu Foundation aims at carrying out continuous community sensitization and civic education on issues that impact the welfare of girls and women in our community, such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Early childhood pregnancies and marriages, and education access, among other vital issues that are not mainly considered necessary by the community at large.
In its first year of founding (2022), our program successfully helped 18 girls from rural areas in Narok County, Kenya, join tertiary education centers, with most joining two—to three-year college programs. Today, we have secured full sponsorship for 5 of the 18 girls from needy families to join tertiary institutions.
